Established in 1918, BRS Local 56 represents Communications and Signal employees working for the Long Island Railroad. Local 56 has been resolute in the establishment and protection of the rights and working conditions of its' represented employees, and will continue to do so in an uncertain and ever changing environment.

Upcoming Events

Islanders Hockey Outing

The annual Islanders outing will be ob on Saturday, February 16, 2008. Tickets will cost $30 per seat and will be disbursed on a first come first serve basis. If you are interested please call Steve Aker @ (516) 551-7659.

Special Olympics

The Special Olympics will be held on May 4, 2008 at William Floyed High School.

Local 56 has a proud tradition of supporting this cuase and is looking for volunteers to assist us in this noble cause.If you are interested please call the union office or contact any union official

Camp Northstar

OUR MISSION

To provide persons with developmental disabilities overnight, day, and weekend camping experiences that combine athletic, recreational, and social activities intended to enrich their lives and increase their life skills. The camp is staffed and run by volunteers and 100% of evry donation goes directly to the camp program.
     (The camp is also a 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax deductable).

     We will be hosting our 4th annual Comedy night will be on Friday, February 29, 2008, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Seaford. Doors open at 7:00PM and the show starts at 8:00PM
