This is an example. After much discussion
regarding what the terms of the dues assessment should be it was decided that all employees would be assessed $100 with employees
who have less than 1 year of employment paying a prorated amount based their service time.
Some had sought to charge foreman a higher assessment based on
thier hourly wage (no other class was asked to do so), but the measure was voted down resoundingly due to the fact
that any union member is are to receive equal representation for an equal amount of money
paid to the union.
Retro checks will be disbursed late April and the intent is to have the assessment taken at
that time. Also, if allocating monies to a 401 or 457 plan but would like to change the percentage that is currently set
